#CodeWithImpact

We help healthcare teams solve complex challenges with volunteer data talent.
Because code, when guided by purpose, can change lives.

How it works

1.Healthcare teams submit a project2.We match them with volunteer data professionals3.Projects are scoped + anonymised4.Insights make an impact

For Volunteers

What skills we need:
Python, R, SQL, Excel, stats, dashboards
What you’ll do:
Analysis, modelling, dashboards, data prep
Time commitment:
Flexible, 2–6 weeks

For Researchers

What you get:
Free analytics help, matched to your needs
Data always stays anonymised and secure

Join Our Mission

Whether you’re a data professional looking to volunteer your skills, a healthcare researcher in need of support, or someone who simply believes in the cause, you have a place in this journey. We invite you to join our mission – let's turn helplessness into hope and make a real impact, together.

The People behind CodeWithImpact

Meet Simona

Why I Started #CodeWithImpact

I created #CodeWithImpact during one of the hardest moments of my life.My father is living with bulbar-onset Motor Neurone Disease (ALS) and frontotemporal dementia.Day by day, I’ve watched him lose his ability to speak, to move, and to express himself and with it, I’ve felt a deep sense of helplessness.I couldn’t change his diagnosis.
I couldn’t stop the disease.
But I could do something with what I do have my skills in data, my drive to help, and a strong belief in people coming together to make a difference.
#CodeWithImpact connects data professionals like analysts, developers, and statisticians with healthcare researchers who need help unlocking insights in their data. These insights can lead to better research, faster learning, and stronger support for conditions like ALS, dementia, and beyond. This project started from a personal place, but it’s not just about me.
It’s about building a movement of people who believe their skills can do good. It's about showing that even when we feel powerless in one part of life, we can still create hope and purpose in another.
If you’ve ever asked yourself how you can make a real impact with the skills you already have this is your invitation.Let’s build something that helps others. Together.

Meet Caitlin

I am thrilled to be part of the Code With Impact initiative to use my technical experience towards tackling real-world healthcare challenges. Though my day job is in banking I believe that health is wealth - which is probably why I insist on cycling to the office in rain, hail and shine.I bring around four years of quantitative analytics experience, where I have specialised in the development and validation of models, mainly using Python, SAS and SQL. With a degree in Mathematics I love solving problems and my idea of emotional support usually involves offering advice and solutions.Through Code With Impact, I'm excited to grow, connect, and try to make a positive difference.Caitlin

Meet Anna

I work as a Senior Risk Analyst in finance, where I combine analytical thinking with a passion for problem-solving and coding. I’m a determined and kindhearted person who is always striving to learn, grow, and make a meaningful impact.Helping others has always been important to me, and this mission is especially close to my heart. My father was diagnosed with MND two years ago, and while I could be there for him emotionally, I often wished I could do more. By volunteering, I hope to support health research and contribute to a better understanding of rare diseases like his. With my skills in data analysis and coding, I’m eager to give back, support researchers, and be part of a community working toward real progress.Anna

Meet Adrian

I joined Code with Impact the moment I learned of its existence drawn by a simple idea:
put code to work where it can matter most.
Personal experiences have kept me close to biomedicine, especially initiatives at the intersection of cancer research and neurodegenerative disease. That proximity shaped my academic path: I studied Mathematics and Computer Science to understand, model, and simulate the aspects of reality that most captured my curiosity. This quantitative foundation led me to KPMG Spain, where I have spent the past nine years in Credit Risk for international institutions. My focus is connecting mathematical clarity with real-world decisions, designing and explaining models, strengthening governance, and translating complexity into outcomes stakeholders can trust.Adrian

Meet Julian

I am a technology enthusiast and a critical thinker who believes in stepping out of the comfort zone and embracing the “learn and share” philosophy. With over 25 years of experience in IT projects across three countries, I have worked in development, analysis, and management roles. Today, I thrive as a bridge between business and technology — understanding customer challenges and helping tech teams deliver effective solutions.
I joined Code With Impact as an opportunity to use my skills and knowledge to serve the community and create meaningful impact. However, I’ve also discovered an incredible space for learning, connecting with inspiring people, and most importantly, making a real difference.
Code With Impact is not just an idea, it’s growing into a community that empowers growth, collaboration, and purpose.Julian

Meet Jon

I joined Code with Impact because I wanted to use my skills alongside others who are equally passionate about creating meaningful, data-driven change. The tools available to analysts today make it an incredible moment to push forward medical research and deliver real-world benefit. My career in Finance spans 24 years, where I have mostly worked in modelling teams and developed a deep appreciation for the art of interpreting the past while preparing for an uncertain future. As I moved into leadership, my focus shifted to building strong, supportive teams and helping people navigate complexity with clarity and purpose. I'm energised by collaborative problem-solving and by the chance to both share what I've learned and continue learning from those around me.Jon

The Power of Data for Good

We believe in the incredible power of data science and analytics to drive change in healthcare. Researchers often have valuable medical data but need help uncovering insights or building tools, and many data experts are eager to contribute to meaningful projects. #CodeWithImpact bridges that gap
A data analyst might help a neurology research team find patterns in patient data, or a software developer might create a tool to track disease progression. These collaborations can accelerate research, bringing new hope to patients and families, while giving volunteer data professionals a deeper sense of purpose beyond the office.
